FAQs · Getting Started with Therapy

Questions about therapy? You're not alone.

Starting counseling is a big step. This page gathers answers to the questions we hear most often from individuals and couples in Dallas and the wider DFW area, as well as virtual clients across Texas and South Carolina.

Getting started

Radiant Reflections Counseling Center serves individuals and couples with in-person sessions in Dallas for the DFW area and virtual sessions across Texas and South Carolina. We welcome clients from a variety of cultural and relational backgrounds.

We work with relationship concerns, communication struggles, anxiety, emotional exhaustion, life transitions, stress, grief, identity work, and navigating multiple roles and expectations at once.

You can request an appointment through our secure online portal, or reach out through our contact page. Once we connect, we’ll talk briefly about what you’re looking for and schedule a time that works for you.

Sessions, fees & insurance

Most therapy sessions are about 50 minutes. In some cases—such as couples work, intensives, or deeper processing—we may schedule longer sessions by mutual agreement.

Many clients start with weekly sessions to build trust and momentum. As you feel more grounded and supported, we may move to biweekly or a different rhythm that fits your needs and goals.

Radiant Reflections is a private-pay practice. You pay for sessions at the time of service, and we can provide a superbill you may submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your benefits.

We accept major debit and credit cards, and in some cases HSA/FSA cards. Payment is usually handled through our secure client portal.

We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged a fee, as that time has been reserved for you.

Online therapy & location

Yes. We offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions for clients across Texas and South Carolina. All you need is a private space, a stable internet connection, and a phone, tablet, or computer.

We are based in Dallas, Texas for in-person sessions for clients in the DFW area. We also serve clients virtually across Texas and South Carolina.

For many people and concerns, online therapy can be just as effective as in-person work. It also offers flexibility and comfort, especially for busy schedules, caregiving responsibilities, and clients with transportation or distance barriers.

Confidentiality, safety & fit

Yes. Your privacy matters deeply to us. Information you share in therapy is confidential, with a few exceptions required by law—such as risk of harm to self or others, suspected abuse, or court orders. We will review these exceptions with you in your intake paperwork and first session.

Radiant Reflections Counseling Center is not a 24/7 crisis center. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent help, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. You can also reach local crisis services in your county.

That’s okay. Many people feel uncertain before starting therapy. You are welcome to bring your questions and hesitations to the first session—we’ll move at a pace that feels respectful of your story and nervous system.

A strong therapeutic fit is essential. If at any point it doesn’t feel like the right match, we can talk about it openly and, if helpful, offer referrals to other providers or resources.

Therapy should feel clear—not scary.

You don't need the perfect words or a polished story to begin. Just a sense that you're ready for something to feel different.
